In a recent blog post, I provided my 12 tips for surviving the home tour experience. It contemplates the typical scenario wherein we drive around together tackling a list of properties in search of “the one.” It is exhausting and exhilarating and exactly the way to go when you are here and able to tour with me.
But what if you are not here? What if you are hundreds or even thousands of miles away, and you know you want to move to Portland soon, but it is not practical to purchase a plane ticket every time you see a home that might suit your needs? What if I told you that we could still tour these homes together, but virtually. I am not talking about the typical pan and zoom moving still photos that pass for virtual tours these days. I am talking about you, wherever you happen to be at the moment, and me, on my smart phone, connected via video conference, touring a home together, virtually. I walk through the home “showing” it to you on my smart phone. You get a sense of the home’s flow and key details. We can focus on what matter most to you both inside and outside the home. Want me to get closer to the tile detail on the fireplace? Want to see the view from a particular vantage point in a room? Are those raspberries planted in that raised bed? Just let me know what you want to view up close.
Previewing homes for clients or video conferencing a home tour are services that I happily provide to my relocation clients. Believe it or not, some homes in Portland are being sold today via virtual showing only. Those fearless home owners walk into their home for the first time when they pull up to it with keys in hand. It is a brave new world out there, and I want to help you be part of it. Contact me if you are looking to relocate to Portland and would like to work together, virtually or otherwise.
